General Child Development Program

Woodstock Child Development Center has been a part of the Alameda Unified School District since 1943.  The major sources of funding for the program are the California Department of Education, Child Development Division, Federal and State Child Nutrition Programs, and Parent Fees.

The WCDC program serves 200-220 children ranging from 18 months to eleven of age, or the end of the third grade.

The program is open from 7:00am to 5:45pm, Monday - Friday.  Except for state and federal holidays, the center is open year round.

To be eligible for subsidized services in the general education child development program or school-age program, the child’s parents or legal guardians must be employed, in school, or in a job-training program for at least 30 hours per week. The Child Development program is also available to families who do not qualify under these guidelines on a tuition basis. The admission priorities are as follows:

First Priority

Child Protective Services and Families who fall under the McKinney-Vento guidelines shall be admitted first.  Within this priority, children receiving protective services through the county welfare department shall be admitted first.

Second Priority

All children and families who are not within the first priority for admission shall be admitted in accordance with family need and income, with the lowest per capita income admitted first.

Part Day Preschool Program

Woodstock Child Development Center includes a Part Day Preschool Program

The Part Day Preschool Program offers a 3 hour morning or 3 hour afternoon program, Monday through Friday.  The program follows the traditional Alameda Unified School District calendar.

To be eligible for the Part Day Preschool Program, a child’s parents or legal guardian must be Alameda residents.  In addition families must meet California Department of Education income guidelines.  The admission priorities are as follows:

First Priority 

Child Protective Services (CPS) children, McKinney-Vento and families with the lowest adjusted monthly income shall be admitted first.

Second Priority

Eligible four-year-old children will be admitted prior to three-year-old children.  Within these groups, families with the lowest per capita adjusted income shall be admitted first.
